This year, during the 375th anniversary of the City of Montreal, founded in honour of the Virgin Mary, the Museum of Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal dedicates an exhibition to Joseph, Mary’s husband.

The Legacy of Montréal's Women's Religious Communities
In the context of the 375th anniversary of the founding of the city, Maison Saint-Gabriel, museum and historical site, is proposing a new temporary exhibit that dares to explore a subject that is seldom talked about. During this year of historical festivities, the museum is presenting, with 375 Years in the Heart of it All !,the legacy of Montréal's women's religious communities.

Starting June 3, a 30-minute guided tour will let visitors to the Marguerite Bourgeoys Museum discover (or rediscover) a unique archaeological site, where they can admire the remains of Montreal’s first stone chapel, along with some very early traces left here by Indigenous people.
