Radio Maria Canada now at Notre-Dame-de-la-Consolata parish in Montreal.Radio Maria Canada celebrated this spring the opening of its Montreal broadcasting facility at Notre-Dame-de-la-Consolata Parish, located at the intersection of Jean-Talon St. E. and Papineau Avenue.

Just steps from the Fabre metro station on the Snowdon-Saint-Michel blue line, the new location offers easier access for visitors and volunteers at a time when the Canadian Catholic radio ministry is expanding its programming and seeking new volunteers.

"Having a visible, street-front presence in Montreal with easy access for all of our listeners is a great benefit," says Dr. John Romanelli, president of Radio Maria Canada. "The parish offers us a welcoming physical space and the opportunity to connect with a greater number of people in our mission of spreading hope and helping listeners grow in faith."

Founded in 1995 by Luigi Pautasso, an inspirational Italo-Canadian (1931-2013), Radio Maria has been broadcasting in Italian since its beginning and, since 2005, in English. A registered charity mainly operated by a dedicated team of volunteers and a small group of employees, Radio Maria Canada does not accept advertising or government funding - but rather relies on the providence of God and intercession of Mary. From its beginning, Radio Maria has had an agreement with its listeners, confirming that this wonderful adventure would continue so long as there is an audience willing to make sacrifices to support it.

Through its two channels, listeners can tune into Holy Mass, Liturgy of the Hours, Rosary, catechism, programs on human formation, news in the global and local Church and music which elevates God, instils peace and encourages prayer.
