Social Medias

From the beginning, the Church has used the various communication networks available to disseminate the Gospel. In the past century, whether it be by means of the written media (Osservatore Romano) in the 1930's, or through radio and television in the 1950's (Vatican Radio), we see that the Church has not hesitated to use modern media to spread the Good News.

The Church's implication in Social Media has been more recent. In fact, it has only been since the 3rd of December 2012 that the Vatican announced the pope's new Twitter account. It took only an hour for him to be followed by more than 20, 000 people and within a few days that number increased to more than a million! The new communication tools present an extraordinary opportunity for the Church to correspond directly with millions of people, among them many young people. We invite you to join us on these platforms to share, discover and discuss together!
