A Night to Remember

In our community, we wish to strengthen families in living their Christian values and to support couples throughout their growth in the sacrament of matrimony. To do this, our Family Life Ministry (FLM) committee organizes many programs, events and activities throughout the year. The FLM consists of 23 married couples whose time and help are undeniably important in the realisation of these events. One of these is A Night to Remember, a yearly to bi-annual marriage enrichment evening for couples married five years or less. It is modeled on the Tables for Two program.

A Night to Remember is organised for 15 to 20 couples, who are invited to a dinner date with their spouses. In a romantic setting, they enjoy a fourcourse dinner served to them by 23 service couples. Many people lend a hand, including the Youth Ministry group (for babysitting services), making it an intergenerational event. Throughout the dinner, the couples are given questions on such topics as: the first time they met, their differences and similarities, the role of faith in their relationship, their fears and hopes, their desire to grow closer... The service couples are also available for guidance in the ensuing discussions. It is a wonderful opportunity for couples to reconnect, reminisce and celebrate their love.
