On Tuesday, February 17 (Mardi Gras), Archbishop Christian Lépine visited Maison Basile-Moreau, where the day began with a warm and fraternal gathering with the community. After a welcome from Brother Laurent Landriault, the Archbishop shared recent news from the archdiocese and expressed his gratitude for the brothers’ faithful commitment to the Gospel mission, encouraging them to continue praying for young people and for society. The visit included a testimony from a young Brother of the Sacred Heart about his vocation and missionary journey from India to Montreal. The day continued with a Mass celebrated by the Archbishop, followed by a festive Mardi Gras lunch shared in a spirit of joy, fraternity, and community.

On the occasion of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, more than one hundred consecrated men and women from over twenty religious communities gathered at Carrefour-Providence for a day of prayer, fellowship, and celebration. The day began with the blessing of candles, followed by a procession and a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Archbishop Lépine. It continued with moments of sharing, visits to sisters and brothers in the infirmary, and a festive lunch that encouraged new encounters among the communities. It was a beautiful opportunity to give thanks for the fidelity of vocations and to celebrate the richness of consecrated life.

On February 7, World Marriage Day was celebrated with Archbishop Christian Lépine during a bilingual diocesan Mass at Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral, in partnership with Worldwide Marriage Encounter. Couples were able to renew their vows and receive a special blessing for their families.

On Saturday, January 31, 2026, the Archdiocese of Montreal celebrated the World Day of Consecrated Life in an atmosphere of faith, unity, and hope. Priests, deacons, religious sisters and brothers, consecrated laypeople, and faithful from various parishes gathered around Archbishop Christian Lépine to mark this important celebration in the life of the Church.
