As we learn of the attack perpetrated in Paris, the Archbishop of Montreal, Most Rev. Christian Lépine, shares the deep sorrow of the victims and their families.

He profoundly regrets that people use God to justify horrendous murderous acts. He joins the Archbishop of Paris in his appeal to "work at building relationships of peace and mutual respect" in a world where we believe more easily in the power of violence than in the power of dialogue. He invites people to meditate in silence in order to express their solidarity.
