The Evangelization Cross, symbol of CAM5 (5th Missionary Congress of America in 2018), has officially been welcomed in Canada by the Pontifical Missionary Societies in Canada, after its arrival on the 25th of October.

Blessed by the Pope

On July 9th, 2015, in Bolivia during his apostolic voyage to South America, Pope Francis blessed 40 identical crosses - one for each country in the American continent and 18 others for every Bolivian diocese - officially marking the beginning of the journey towards the 5th Missionary Congress of America that will be held in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.

Pilgrimage of the Cross

The Evangelization Cross, which was crafted by Bolivian artisans from the region of Chiquitos, carries relics of the Blessed Nazaria Ignacia March Mesa, the first person to found a missionary community in Bolivia. The Cross will make its way across Canada, beginning in 2016, organized by the Pontifical Mission Societies
