The Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement (VEYM): Montreal Chapter celebrates 40 Years of Service
Montreal
The local chapter of the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement (VEYM) celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, marking four decades of dedication to training young people to become better citizens for society and committed Catholics in the mission of the Church.
Established in 1984, the Savio Chapter of Montreal was the first MEJV chapter founded in Canada and the only one in the world to use French, English, and Vietnamese languages. Over the years, the Chapter has grown and evolved, but its core mission remains the same: to provide an environment where young people can pursue holiness and become apostles to other youths, as Saint Dominic Savio was, by living the Eucharistic day, which means a life of “Prayer, Communion, Sacrifice, and Apostolic Works.”
Living such a life today comes with many challenges, but with the Eucharist as the “source and summit” of our lives, we embrace the future with joy and faith in Him.
