In an Ordinary Consistory, Pope Francis and the Cardinals approved the canonization of 15 individuals, including Sr. Marie-Léonie Paradis from Canada and Blessed Carlo Acutis, the first millennial to be beatified. Sr. Marie-Léonie Paradis, founder of the Little Sisters of the Holy Family, will be canonized on October 20, 2024. However, Blessed Carlo Acutis’ canonization will occur at a later, yet-to-be-announced date, likely during the upcoming Jubilee year.

About Sr. Marie-Léonie Paradis:
Sr. Marie-Léonie Paradis, born Virginie-Alodie Paradis, founded the Little Sisters of the Holy Family in the early 20th century. Known for her dedication to the poor and her commitment to education, she played a vital role in the spiritual and social development of her community. After spending 12 years in the United States, she returned to Canada and continued her mission of serving those in need, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and service.

About Blessed Carlo Acutis:
Blessed Carlo Acutis, born in 1991, is recognized as the first millennial saint. A gifted web designer, he dedicated his talents to documenting Eucharistic miracles and Marian apparitions on a website he created. Despite his young age, Carlo was deeply committed to his faith and showed remarkable compassion for the poor and homeless, using his savings to help those in need. He passed away from leukemia at just 15 years old, leaving behind a powerful example of faith and service.
