Red Wednesday: Stand in Solidarity with Persecuted Christians
Montreal
Save the date of November 20 for Red Wednesday! Archbishop Christian Lépine will celebrate a special mass at 5 p.m. at Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral, accompanied by the Choir of Angels chorale. Red Wednesday is observed internationally to help raise awareness of the persecution of Christians and defend religious freedom.
Take part in the mass, wear red to show your support, encourage your loved ones and share photos with the code #RedWednesday.
In addition, numerous buildings, primarily churches, will be illuminated in red across Canada on Nov. 20. In Montreal, the facade of Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral, and the dome of Saint Joseph’s Oratory will be illuminated in red for the occasion. At the Oratory, the 2:00 p.m. Mass in the crypt will be specially dedicated to persecuted Christians.
