Evening of prayers

The Archbishop invites you to a Thanksgiving celebration through an evening of adoration, music, prayer, and witness, led by young people, for young people. On this special occasion, Youth Ministers will be blessed and commissioned by our Archbishop.

The ecumenical celebration offers a unique occasion to reflect upon and rejoice in the common faith shared by all Christians. The title of the service, Light from Light for Light, is inspired by the Christological phrase of the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed — the monumental touchstone of Christian unity — whose 1700th anniversary we commemorated last year. The Armenian Prelacy of Canada, the Alliance of Middle-Eastern Christians and the Canadian Centre for Ecumenism invite you to join us!

Montreal GreenFaith Circle
will be hosting the vigil as part of the Canada-wide 'For the Love of Creation' initiative with similar vigils being held across the country at that time.

C'est l'occasion de consoler le coeur de Jésus par notre amour, et d'unir à sa Passion toutes les souffrances de notre monde.

The theme this year is “Passing the Torch – Assuming our responsibility for memory, hope, and the future”. Co-presided by Fr. André Gagnon S.J. and Rabbi Adam Rubin. Testimonies by Holocaust survivors Liba and Rivka Augenfeld. Christian reflection by Lucas Magnus (Focolare movement). Candle-lighting ceremony in remembrance of all the victims of the Holocaust. Musical part by Sara Schabas, soprano and Cecilia Nguyen Tran, pianist. Short kosher reception. Registration required.

Let’s celebrate together the 1700th anniversary of the first Christian Ecumenical Council, held in Nicaea, in 325 AD, with prayers, songs of joy and hope for Christian Unity.
