This office specifically looks after the priests, deacons and mandated lay people of the Diocese. We work in collaboration with the office of the Archbishop, the vicars general and the episcopal vicars.

Our work consists of helping and accompanying priests in their ministry by providing replacement help when needed in order to facilitate their work. More importantly however, we listen to their individual needs. We are also responsible for welcoming foreign priests by offering training and accompaniment to help them acclimate and become familiar with the culture of the Church of Montreal.

For permanent deacons, we receive their application to the permanent diaconate, and we offer them formation and spiritual and fraternal support. We ensure that they receive ongoing formation and make certain that they are happy in their role. We listen and accompany the lay pastoral staff (pastoral agents and childcare workers) in their duties and responsibilities in the parish, in collaboration with the ordained ministers.
