Attacks in Brussels: Archbishop Lépine Reacts
International
This message of support from the Archbishop of Montreal was issued following the terrorist attacks that have just rocked Belgium.
Upon learning of the deadly terrorist attacks on Belgium, and on Brussels in particular, I would like to express my deep feelings of solidarity with the Archbishop of Malines-Bruxelles, Jozef De Kesel, as well as with all Belgians.
Struck by the horror as, once again, innocent people are killed in the name of God, all the victims who were injured or killed, their respective families, their friends, and everyone who is directly or indirectly affected by this tragedy remain firmly in our thoughts.
We pray that God's love, revealed by Jesus Christ Crucified and Resurrected, may touch their hearts, providing comfort and balm for the open wounds inflicted upon their souls. In this Year of Mercy, we pray that, throughout the entire world, we will walk along the road of solidarity, freedom and security, of justice and peace.
+ Christian Lépine
Archbishop of Montreal
