Montreal

The Catholic Church of Montreal will be participating, for its 19th year, in the Parents and Kids Fair being held April 5-8, at Place Bonaventure. Come by and say hello!

This event has become the largest consumer fair for families in Canada. Fostering a unique means of contact and communication with Quebec families visiting the Fair, the Church's booth (736-738) this year features the theme: Nourishing Your Child's Heart.

Why does the Church participate year after year? "The Church desires to be close to all people," Archbishop Christian Lépine says, "and the fair is a meeting place where we encounter one another and to go out to be of service in the world."

"The Church's mission consists in bringing people together and focusing on the spiritual dimension. Even within the context of an immense fair where things are being bought and sold, there is always an opportunity to talk about that which is 'true and beautiful' so as to nourish the heart of all children, both the young and not-so-young," he underlines.

"If Jesus was with us today and he knew that there was a place specifically designed for parents and their children, he would surely be there!" adds Louise Boisvert, Director of the Office for Faith Education. "It is important for us to be present at the Fair to answer the many questions families may have - be it about baptism or faith education in general. We're there to respond, not to sell anything, and we definitely do have a lot to offer!"

The Fair's schedule is as follows:

Thursday and Friday, April 5-6: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday, April 7: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Sunday, April 8: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
