On Corpus Christi, or the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ, Catholics honour the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. The feast is a very old tradition and has been celebrated for centuries with a Eucharistic procession, during which a monstrance containing a consecrated host is carried through the streets, followed by the faithful singing hymns and reciting prayers.

The candlelight procession lasts around 45 minutes. The event will take place regardless of the weather.

Growing in our love for the Eucharist

The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic faith. Our Infinite God gives himself to us in a diminutive Host, and He calls every one of us to know Him more fully and to love Him more deeply in this great Mystery.
