Development and Peace - Caritas Canada invites you to participate in the launch webinar of the Share Lent 2025 campaign, which will focus on the theme Transforming Debt into Hope. This global campaign, led by Caritas Internationalis and other partners, responds to Pope Francis' Jubilee 2025 call to “forgive the debts of countries that can never repay them” (Spes non confundit, §16).

Join the event on March 1, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. to learn more about this initiative that fights against the injustice of global debt and ecological debt. Special guests for this webinar will be:

• Dean Dettloff, Advocacy Officer, who will talk about the campaign and the heavy debt burden of impoverished countries.
• Javier Jahncke, human rights lawyer, who will highlight Peru's ecological debt and its serious consequences for the environment and human rights.

The webinar will be available with interpretation in French, English and Spanish.
