On October 8, the Diocese of Montreal celebrated 40 years of diaconal history. A Mass was celebrated on the occasion by Archbishop Christian Lépine at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral. Three of the diocese’s original deacons attended the celebration, including 98-year-old François Poirier.

Last Sunday, Pope Francis presided over a Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica to inaugurate a Synod of the Universal Church, which will take place over the next two years on the themes of Communion, Participation, and Mission.

Saturday morning, October 17, the Catholic Church of Montreal celebrated our fourth annual Mass of thanksgiving in honour of our benefactors, presided by Archbishop Christian Lépine.

On Oct 5, with the Archbishop of Montreal and figures from the business and religious communities present, in addition to seminarians, students, professors and friends, the Grand Séminaire de l'Archidiocèse de Montréal (GSAM) and the Fondation du Grand Séminaire de Montréal unveiled their new looks.
