The Catholic Bishops of Canada are grateful that Pope Francis has accepted their invitation to visit Canada on a pilgrimage of healing and reconciliation.

At the General Audience on Wednesday, Pope Francis reflects on the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

On October 8, the Diocese of Montreal celebrated 40 years of diaconal history. A Mass was celebrated on the occasion by Archbishop Christian Lépine at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral. Three of the diocese’s original deacons attended the celebration, including 98-year-old François Poirier.

Last Sunday, Pope Francis presided over a Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica to inaugurate a Synod of the Universal Church, which will take place over the next two years on the themes of Communion, Participation, and Mission.

Saturday morning, October 17, the Catholic Church of Montreal celebrated our fourth annual Mass of thanksgiving in honour of our benefactors, presided by Archbishop Christian Lépine.
