The fate of residential school children in Kamloops has shed further light on a dark episode in Canadian history, one that can leave no man or woman, believer or non-believer unmoved. Our most fundamental values are under attack when the integrity of families and the respect that is due to every human being are so utterly violated.

Linda Leblanc will enter the Order of Consecrated Virgins during a Mass at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral on June 12. Having begun her professional career as a nurse and now osteopath, Linda says this commitment is the reflection of her desire ‘‘to be a witness in the world of the Bride of Christ,’’ which is ‘‘not an individual, it is the Church.’’

Even during a time of social isolation because of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Sunday liturgy continues to offer nourishment for prayer and reflection during the whole week – whether we are meditating on the readings, or participating in a television broadcast of the Mass and making a spiritual Communion.
