Festivities surrounding the 375th anniversary of Montreal’s founding were officially launched on Wednesday, May 17 at Notre-Dame Basilica, with a solemn Mass presided by the Archbishop of Montreal, Most Rev. Christian Lépine.

During the solemn Mass on May 17, the Apostolic Nuncio to Canada, Archbishop Luigi Bonazzi, read the Holy Father's message, sent on the occasion of the 375th anniversary of Montreal.

Central to the many activities during the month of May - the celebration of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin - the patronal feast day of our diocese, May 31, is an opportunity to meet and to publicly express our communion as Church.

As part of Ville-Marie's 375th anniversary, on May 21, the Greater Montreal Christian Churches are called to unite in prayer and share a message of hope for the peace and well-being of the city.
