The Funeral for Jean-Claude Cardinal Turcotte will be celebrated by Most Reverend Christian Lépine, Archbishop of Montreal, on Friday, April 17, at 2 p.m. at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral.

The cardinal's body will lie in state at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral on Thursday, April 16, from 7am to 10pm. Everyone is welcome to pay their last respects to the Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Montreal.

The funeral will be broadcast live on CBC/RDI television. Father Thomas Rosica, C.S.B., CEO of Salt + Light TV, will provide the CBC English-language commentary on the funeral. Approximately 1,400 people are expected to attend, including several dignitaries. A few hundred places will be available to the public. The celebration will also be broadcast on a giant screen outside the cathedral.

Cathedral doors open.

7:30 a.m.
Mass in the apse, behind the main altar. (30 minutes)
The faithful who wish to attend this Mass celebrated for the repose of the soul of the deceased are welcome. 

9:30 a.m.
Official opening of the lying in state (20 minutes)
The Archbishop of Montreal, Most Rev. Christian Lépine, will preside. 

12:10 p.m. and 5 p.m.  
Mass in the apse, behind the main altar. (30 minutes)
The faithful who wish to attend this Mass celebrated for the repose of the soul of the deceased are welcome.

7:30 p.m.
Celebration of Vespers, Office of the Dead. (30 minutes)
The Archbishop of Montreal, Most Rev. Christian Lépine, will preside. 

10:00 p.m.
Preparation for the closing of the cathedral. 
The cathedral will remain open until everyone has left.
