Corpus Christi Diocesan Celebration
All the faithful of the Archdiocese of Montreal are cordially invited to a special Mass presided by Archbishop Christian Lépine, followed by a Eucharistic procession through the streets of downtown on Thursday evening, June 4, beginning at 7 pm.
The Feast of Corpus Christi, also know as Corpus Domini, is celebrated the Sunday following Trinity Sunday (i.e 60 days following Easter). We are celebrating the tradition and belief in the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ and his Real Presence in the Eucharist.
"Shine forth the light of Christ"
Once again this year, the Mass will be celebrated at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral, beginning earlier this year at 7 pm. The procession will be via Ste. Catherine St. The evening will conclude as always with a Benediction service at St. Patrick's Basilica.
Priests will be available for confession as of 6 pm. Candles will be available at a nominal cost for the procession. Parishes, movements and community groups are welcome to bring their own banners (e.g. parish patron saint, Mother Mary, etc...)
