Every summer, more precisely in the month of June, the church of Saint John Bosco located in the Ville-Émard district comes alive to honor Saint Anthony of Padua, the patron saint of shipwrecked people and prisoners, the poor, the elderly, animals, the oppressed, pregnant women, the hungry, horsemen, and the patron saint against sterility. He is traditionally invoked to find lost objects or forgotten things.

To follow in his footsteps, the faithful of the church of Saint John Bosco organize festivities in his honor. This festival brings together many people of different cultures, origins and even religions. It is indeed a time to live and witness the unity in diversity. It is also one of the convincing examples of the synodal spirit, of the openness to our sisters and brothers of other religious confessions.

Thus, this year the festivities will begin on Saturday, June 10 at 11:30 am with the blessing of the motorcycles. This will be followed by various activities for children of all ages and the evening will be filled with the music of a well-known musician from the Italian community, Dominic Minguccio, who will have us dancing to his repertoire of Italian songs. The next day, June 11 at 3:00 pm, a mass will be said in honor of St. Anthony of Padua, followed by a meditated procession in the neighborhood guided by a band “Banda gentile”. Right after the procession, the evening will be exposed to musical and gastronomic moments, animated by our famous musician Dominic Minguccio. Finally, prizes will be awarded to the winners of the raffle.
