The Archdiocese of Montreal will join the universal Church in celebrating the Sixth Sunday of the Word of God on January 26, 2025. Instituted by Pope Francis, this special day highlights the importance of the Word of God in the daily life of the Church and our communities. The Word of God is not confined to the pages of Scripture but is alive and ever-present, becoming a tangible sign of God's presence among us.

The theme for the 2025 edition, chosen by Pope Francis within the context of the Jubilee Year, is drawn from Psalm 119: "I hope in your Word." This verse is a cry of hope, inviting us to place our trust in God’s Word, especially during times of anguish, confusion, and tribulation.

This Sunday, celebrated in St. Peter’s Basilica with Pope Francis, calls all of us to deepen our engagement with Scripture, living it with renewed faith, and sharing the message of hope it brings with others. The Archdiocese invites all parish communities to reflect on this theme and come together in prayer and celebration.
