Formation on the Homily for Priests
Montreal
On Wednesday, November 5, the Archdiocese of Montreal hosted the first session of a formation program for priests on the theme of the homily. This session, offered by Divine Renovation and organized by the Office of Pastoral Personnel, will be followed by a second meeting on Wednesday, November 19.
We are convinced that the homily during Mass serves as “true help to the faithful for the bettering their life of relationship with God and others” (Directory for the Life and Ministry of Priests, 2013, n. 62). In this spirit, around twenty priests participated with enthusiasm in the first session, united in their desire to further develop their ability to proclaim the Good News effectively within their Christian communities.
About Divine Renovation
Divine Renovation is a Catholic ministry founded by Fr. James Mallon, dedicated to inspiring and equipping parishes to become missionary communities. The organization provides tools, training, and pastoral support to priests and parish leaders, helping transform parishes from a maintenance model to a missionary model—reaching out to people and drawing them closer to Jesus Christ.
Through this formation, we hope to strengthen the growth of Christian communities in our diocese, fostering the joyful hope that comes from Jesus Christ.
