The Catholic Professionnal Network welcomes former Canadian ambassador to the Holy See
Montreal
Come and hear the testimony of Anne Leahy, a great servant of our country and Church, on Thursday evening, October 4, at the Sacred Heart School of Montreal.
All are welcome to listen to Canadian diplomat Anne Leahy speak of her 40 years in Canada’s foreign service. A graduate of Queen’s University and the University of Toronto with degrees in economics, her fields of expertise are Russia, the African Great Lakes and the Holy See, where she served as Canadian Ambassador.
She moved from travelling the world to working with our own multinational world on university campuses. She sits on the Advisory Board of the School of Religious Studies of McGill University and teaches Catholicism and Public Policy in the Faculty of Arts. She is also on the Governing Council of Regis College, the Jesuit School of Theology at the University of Toronto, and member of the Conseil de l’Institut des études internationales de Montréal at UQAM, of which she was the founding director.
Her most exciting project is the Newman Centre, the Catholic chaplaincy for English-speaking students, particularly at McGill. This summer, she was invited to chair the Board of the Newman Association of Montreal and, together with a team of committed members and excellent staff, is looking to widen the scope of the truly important contribution this spiritual home is bringing to Catholic students. In Montreal, she is active in her parish of St-Jean-Baptiste, on the Plateau. It has wonderful youth groups, la Bande FM and three superb organs!
