Jubilee

In this Jubilee Year of Hope, the 12th edition of 24 Hours for the Lord, a global Lenten initiative of prayer and reconciliation introduced by Pope Francis, will be celebrated from Friday, March 28 to Saturday, March 29. Rooted in the words of the Psalmist, "You are my hope" (Ps. 71:5), this special time invites everyone to experience God’s mercy through prayer and the sacrament of reconciliation.

In the Archdiocese of Montreal, two communities have embraced this initiative with creativity and dedication. At the Cathédrale Marie-Reine-du-Monde, the faithful are invited to participate in a Lenten Retreat: 24 Hours with the Lord. From Saturday morning until the following dawn, the Cathedral will remain open for continuous prayer, meditation, and reflection. Archbishop Christian Lépine will be present to accompany the faithful in this profound encounter with God’s mercy.

Meanwhile, at Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Laval, the community is marking its 60th anniversary with a unique initiative, "60 Minutes to Serve & Pray." Throughout the year, parishioners and visitors alike are encouraged to dedicate one hour to acts of service or intentional prayer, reflecting the spirit of the Jubilee through concrete actions of love and solidarity.

This is an opportunity to give oneself the gift of time with the Lord. Whether through silent prayer, Eucharistic adoration, or the healing grace of reconciliation, these moments of spiritual renewal are a meaningful way to celebrate the Jubilee and rediscover the joy of hope.
