Montreal

Earlier this spring, Archbishop Christian Lépine of Montreal joined Renaude Grégoire on Questions d'aujourd'hui, a weekly radio program produced by the Office de catéchèse du Québec and broadcast on Radio VM. The two-part conversation, which aired on March 11 and 18, 2026, ranged across several pressing issues examined through the lens of faith, among them human dignity, migration, and peace.

Archbishop Lépine addressed the importance of recognizing the dignity of every person, particularly within a social climate shaped by complex realities. He also reflected on the challenges surrounding migration, pointing to the call for welcome, accompaniment, and solidarity.

He spoke about his involvement in interreligious dialogue, including his role as co-chair of the Jewish-Catholic Dialogue, an initiative sponsored by the Canadian Rabbinic Caucus and the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops. Grounded in respect and genuine encounter, this dialogue works to build bridges and advance peace within society.

Archbishop Lépine also presented the vision of collaborative secularity developed in a brief by the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Quebec, an approach that calls for respectful coexistence among differing convictions, where religious traditions can contribute to the common good.

Throughout the interview, he brings a thoughtful perspective on contemporary issues, rooted in a Christian understanding of engagement and social responsibility.

Both episodes are available on the Radio VM website under Les émissions archivées (Archived Programs).
