On Thursday, October 27, before the Committee on Institutions in Quebec City, the Assembly of Quebec Catholic Bishops presented its brief on Bill 62, on State religious neutrality.

The delegation was composed of the president, Most Rev. Paul Lortie, Bishop of Mont-Laurier, and the Archbishops of Quebec and Montreal, Gérald Cyprien Cardinal Lacroix and Most Rev. Christian Lépine.

There are three parts to the AQCB's brief, on (1) the meaning of and need for State religious neutrality, (2) freedom of conscience and religion, and (3) the value of Quebec's current pluralism.
