Montreal

Archbishop Christian Lépine joined co-founders and members of Carrefour Foi et Spiritualité (At the Crossroads of Faith and Spirituality) on June 6, opening a year of twentieth-anniversary celebrations for a Montreal centre of faith, dialogue, and spiritual reflection.

The gathering, held at the Carrefour's Cartierville premises, brought together its two co-founders: Fr. Jean-Chrysostome Zoloshi, now serving as pastor at Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral, and Sr. Pierrette Bertrand of the Franciscan Oblates of St. Joseph. Together they traced the organization's journey from its earliest days to the present, bearing witness to twenty years of growth and fidelity to its founding vision.

Twenty years on, the Carrefour continues to stand at the crossroads of everyday life, offering spaces for reflection and dialogue. Its four guiding themes speak directly to a society that has lost its bearings amid the turbulence of our times: the search for meaning, psychospiritual development, learning to live together, and social and environmental engagement.

Testimonies shared at the gathering affirmed that the Carrefour challenges each of us to dare to open new paths of connection through respectful dialogue, and to chart the way toward a future where every person may live in the fullness of their dignity, in the pursuit of peace, in care for a protected earth, and in commitment to an equitable sharing of resources for a life of health, happiness, and justice.

Programming continues this fall, with events planned to carry the anniversary forward and sustain the shared work of opening paths toward tomorrow.

Pilgrims we have been for twenty years; pilgrims we shall remain. Let us walk on together.
