Corpus Christi 2016
Montreal
All the faithful of the Archdiocese of Montreal are cordially invited to a special Mass presided by Archbishop Christian Lépine, followed by a procession through the streets of downtown Montreal on Thursday evening, May 26, beginning at 7 p.m.
The Feast of Corpus Christi, also know as Corpus Domini, is celebrated the Sunday following Trinity Sunday (i.e 60 days following Easter). We are celebrating the tradition and belief in the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ and his Real Presence in the Eucharist.
"Divine Mercy in our Midst"
This is a flagship event of our Liturgical Year: Eucharist Mass followed by a procession of thousands of people who gathered in peace, joy and prayer, as witness witnessing to our faith in the true presence of Christ in the midst of our world. The procession will lead us to the Benediction at Saint Patrick's Basilica.
In this Jubilee Year of Mercy, this will also be an opportunity for everyone to pass through the Door of Mercy at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral.
Candles and holders will be available at the main doors of the Cathedral for the modest sum of $3 for one or $5 for two. You may also bring your banners of saints, parishes, movements or groups.
