Fraternal Dinner for Priests, Deacons, and Deacons’ Wives before the Chrism Mass

In the context of Holy Week and as has been the tradition since the Year for Priests (2010), the Pastoral Personnel Office team organized a dinner for priests, deacons, and deacons' wives before the Chrism Mass.

In this Jubilee Year 2025, we have chosen as our theme “Apostles of Christ Jesus our hope” (cf. 1 Tim 1:1), which aptly describes the mission of bishops, priests, and deacons among the People of God. As Holy Thursday approaches, when Christ instituted the Eucharist and made his Apostles priests of the New Covenant, this fraternal gathering expresses the Church's gratitude to ordained ministers for their generous and faithful service.

We were delighted to welcome about 150 people from across the diocese to this dinner.

This event was made possible thanks to the collaboration of many people, both in terms of preparation, financial support, service, and prayer. The Vocation Ministry of the Diocese of Montreal financed the meal, and several people brought desserts or decorations. We had the invaluable help of many volunteers who joyfully and generously gave their time to prepare the hall and serve the meal, making this fraternal gathering possible.
