Two Video Reflections on Pope Francis's Missionary Legacy
Montreal
On the first anniversary of the death of Pope Francis, the Pontifical Mission Societies released a two-part video series inviting the faithful to revisit the missionary legacy of a man who left a profound mark on the contemporary Church.
Throughout his pontificate, Pope Francis consistently reminded the Church of its call to go forth: to turn toward the peripheries and remain attentive to the most vulnerable dimensions of human experience. His message continues to inspire a Church that is rooted in the Gospel, engaged in the world, and present to the people it serves.
The first video features Cardinal Gérald Cyprien Lacroix, who offers a personal testimony on the Holy Father's missionary vision. He reflects on how mission flows first from an encounter with Christ, who sends each of us out toward the other.

The second video presents a reflection by poet and essayist Jacques Gauthier, who explores the spiritual depth of Pope Francis's message. He reminds us that Christian faith is a living experience, one that must find concrete expression in love and service.

Together, these two complementary perspectives invite us to rediscover a legacy that remains as relevant as ever: a Church called to bear witness with simplicity, closeness and hope. That missionary call continues to take shape in our world today.
In rediscovering this legacy, each of us is invited to respond, in our own way, to that universal call: to be a witness to the Gospel wherever life has placed us.
