Amid the world-wide Covid Pandemic, each of us wonders if God is trying to say something to humanity today, especially messages to each individual in different living circumstances. Indeed, we cannot avoid the various effects the Pandemic brings, the uncertainty and difficulties of every day of our life, as no one can be sure of tomorrow's safety. Yet, the experience of faith and mutual love is always a source of hope for every challenge.

The year 2022 is indeed an exceptional one for the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) as it marks a series of important milestones: the 400th anniversary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, which is responsible for the PMS; the 200th anniversary of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith (Mission Foi in Canada); and the 100th anniversary of the recognition of the “pontifical” status of the Mission Foi, Mond'Ami, and Prêtres de demain societies.

Yes, the subtitle reads ‘‘Week’’ not just ‘‘Sunday.’’ This year, once again, the diocese of Saint-Jean-Longueuil, with the help of its partners, has organized their festival of the Word of God, which will take place from January 21 to 30, 2022.

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be celebrated January 18 to 25, 2022 (https://bit.ly/3GwMjlc). Inaugurated in 1908 at the initiative of the Rev. Paul Wattson, an Episcopalian priest from the United States who would later join the Catholic Church, the event is now celebrated all around the world.

On the occasion of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, the Canadian Centre for Ecumenism invites you to celebrate this important moment for all. Archbishop of Montreal, Most Reverend Christian Lépine will also be present at this event.
