Pope Francis explains that Jesus shows us how to fulfill the Father’s plan with filial obedience, meekness, simplicity and respect as we go about our mission to witness and proclaim the Father’s boundless love for all of His children.

At the General Audience on Wed., Jan. 8, Pope Francis called for prayers for Australia, which is currently battling massive wildfires.

Pope Francis, during the Angelus, speaks of the Magi whose lives were changed after encountering the baby Jesus. He also greets the Eastern Churches, Catholic and Orthodox, many of whom celebrate the Lord's birth on the 7th of January.

Saint-Léonard (de Port-Maurice) Church was officially erected on Sunday, Dec. 22, 1889. Three days later, the church was consecrated during the Christmas Mass, and 130 years later, Archbishop Lépine came to celebrate an anniversary Mass.
