Montreal

On September 12th, the Holy Father appointed Bishop Alain Faubert as the new Bishop of Valleyfield Diocese. Since April 2016, Bishop Faubert has served as the Auxiliary Bishop and Vicar General of our archdiocese. We rejoice with all the faithful of the Church of Valleyfield who are welcoming their new pastor. With trust in our Lord, we welcome the challenges facing the local Church as we adapt to the departure of a minister who has shown such dedication and skills in fulfilling his numerous responsibilities.

We wish to give thanks to the Lord and express our gratitude to Bishop Alain Faubert. Accordingly, you are all cordially invited to a Farewell Mass at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral, presided over by Archbishop Christian Lépine, on Friday, November 15th, at 7:30 p.m. The celebration will be live-streamed on the diocesan YouTube channel at: https://youtube.com/live/mgTmhF3aLNs

As announced by the Diocese of Valleyfield, the inauguration of the episcopal ministry of Bishop Alain Faubert will take place on Thursday, November 28th at 7:30 p.m., at the Basilica-Cathedral of Sainte-Cécile (19 rue de l'Église, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield). The celebration will be presided over by our Archbishop Christian Lépine, in the presence of His Excellency Archbishop Ivan Jurkovič Apostolic Nuncio to Canada.  Please note that seating without reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please join me in wishing Bishop Faubert a fruitful ministry filled with joy and peace!
