Montreal

On November 5, priests responsible for catechesis across the Archdiocese of Montreal’s diverse cultural communities gathered at Notre-Dame de Fatima Parish in Laval to share experiences, exchange ideas, and reflect on their shared mission.

Organized by Fr. Pierangelo Paternieri, C.S.,V.É., Director of the Office for Cultural and Ritual Communities, the event was attended by Isabel Correa, Senior Director of Evangelization and Christian Life, and Holly Eugenio, Associate Director of Mission Jeunesse.

In an atmosphere of mutual respect and camaraderie, participants discussed both the joys and the challenges of accompanying people of all ages in their faith journeys. Each community shared its unique realities, while highlighting what unites them: a shared faith and a collective desire to foster encounters with Christ.

The gathering strengthened collaboration with the Diocesan Service of Evangelization and Christian Life and deepened bonds among the cultural communities.

The morning concluded with a meal hosted by the Portuguese community—a warm, convivial occasion that allowed conversations to continue in a spirit of simplicity and togetherness.

Looking ahead, the next gathering will focus on youth and young adult ministry, continuing the dialogue and collaborative work in service of the Church’s mission.
