The Archdiocese of Montreal has just announced the appointment of Erika Jacinto as Director of Communications and Media Relations.

 Mrs. Jacinto was appointed to the position Sept. 25; she succeeds long-time director Lucie Martineau, who retired in June 2017.

Married and a mother of two boys, Mrs. Jacinto is originally from Lima, Peru. Erika has more than 14 years of experience in event management, marketing and corporate communications on a national and international level in the aviation sector. Erika holds a Bachelor of Communications and Media Studies from the University of Lima, in Peru, and a Master of Business Administration with a major in marketing from the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University, in Montreal, Canada.

In her new responsibilities, Mrs. Jacinto will serve as media relations officer and respond to requests for information. She will also assist Archbishop Christian Lépine in developing communication strategies for the Archdiocese, will coordinate requests for interviews and issue press releases and public statements. As part of her mandate, she will also oversee management of the diocesan website and other social media.
