In response to Pope Francis’s invitation to always strive toward the encounter with the other, the theme of this year’s “Don’t Waste Your Death” event will be "Vulnerability: an opportunity for encounter".

We often seek to avoid experiences where we feel vulnerable, especially in sickness and end of life. Perhaps we find these experiences to be uncomfortable or shameful. Yet the Pope encourages us to consider that "vulnerability is the essence of being human." It also fosters the experience of a meaningful encounter with the other.

These three testimonials will stimulate reflection on such questions as: "What does it mean to become vulnerable? How can we make vulnerability in old age and sickness a positive experience?"

The event is a joint collaboration between the Diocesan Centre for Marriage, Life and Family, the Montreal Association of Catholic Physicians and the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
This conference will be given in French.
