Padre Pio is a beloved Italian saint who died just over 50 years ago. The Capuchin friar is best known for hearing confessions for hours at a time, for receiving the stigmata and for the miracle of healing and bilocation. Every year, more than 8 million pilgrims visit his final resting place in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy, making it the second most visited Catholic shrine in the world. (The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City is the most visited.)
