(Vatican News) Speaking during his homily at Mass in the Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis said a true prophet is he who is capable of weeping for his people who do not heed him.

The Archdiocese of Montreal announced the appointment of Laura Rochford as Financial Administrator. Ms. Rochford assumes her new duties effective April 24, 2018, succeeding Benoît Cardin, who has been appointed director of the recently created Office for Development and Planned Giving.

Along with nine other Concordia University alumni, Bishop Thomas Dowd has been recognized with the 2018 John F. Lemieux Medal. On Tuesday, April 17, the Catholic Church celebrates the life of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, first North American Aboriginal person elevated to sainthood. Several events will be held at the mission Saint-François-Xavier, in Kahnawake.
