The Catholic bishops of Quebec began their “ad limina apostolorum” visit (thresholds of the Apostles) on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 with a Eucharistic celebration at St. Peter’s Basilica, in Rome, at the tomb of the "Prince of the Apostles".

Lasting almost two weeks, this quinquennial visit will combine meetings with various Roman dicasteries (departments) and pilgrimages to the major Roman basilicas. An audience with Pope Francis scheduled to last approximately two hours is planned for the morning of May 11, 2017.

This is the opportunity for the Quebec bishops to report to the Holy Father and his close collaborators on the life and mission of the Church in Quebec. Dialogue and multilateral exchanges will likely inspire creativity and give new impetus, at the hour of the "missionary transformation" of the Church in Quebec.

Our bishops' ad limina visit will conclude on May 12, 2017 with a Mass at the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls.
