We are delighted to announce the return of His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo to Montreal for two special celebrations on March 22 and 23, 2025. A native of our city, he was ordained a priest at the Madonna della Consolata church before following an exceptional vocation in the service of the Church.

On December 7, 2024, he was named cardinal by Pope Francis, becoming the only new cardinal from North America. His elevation is an honour for Canada and a source of great pride for Montreal, where his ministry began.

Celebrations open to all

• Saturday, March 22 – Thanksgiving Mass

  His Excellency Archbishop Christian Lépine invites the faithful to a Mass of Thanksgiving presided over by His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo on the occasion of his accession to the College of Cardinals.

• Sunday, March 23 – Mass celebrations at Madonna della Consolata Church

  • 9:30 a.m. (Mass in Italian)
  • 11:00 a.m. (Mass in English)
