While data shows a resurgence in Covid-19 cases in Quebec, religious leaders in Quebec reiterate their commitment to participate in the collective efforts aimed at containing the disease.

Following six months of social distancing and of working on the “frontlines, at the grassroots, in search of how to maintain communication with, connections with, and being of service to the people,” parishes and groups from across the diocese reconnected Monday evening, Sept. 14, for a virtual gathering via Zoom. Far from resigned to the many challenges they currently face, participants came together to share their experience of difficulties and successes during this time of pandemic, and for mutual support.

The Communications Department of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Montreal has released a free 300-page bilingual (French/English) publication entitled “Spiritual accompaniment when facing a pandemic.”

Religious leaders issue a new press release. They make public the health protocols followed closely in all places of worship. They reiterate their request made yesterday, still without a response from the government.
