More than 1,300 people, dignitaries and street kids alike, gathered to pay their last respects to Father Emmett Johns, “Pops” at St. Patrick’s Basilica on January 27, 2018.

From January 18 to 20, more than 2,000 participants gathered in Montreal for the Decoding Love conference, led by Christopher West and Jason Evert, two specialists in theology of the body.

As part of its Canadian pilgrimage, this relic will be in Montreal January 28-30, 2018. This is a rare opportunity to venerate the incorrupt, first-class relic of one of the greatest missionaries and evangelists since St. Paul the Apostle.

The public is invited to pay its last respects to Father "Pops" on Saturday, January 27 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Basilica, when the funeral mass in memory of a man who was resolutely committed and devoted to his neighbour will be held.

The Archdiocese has learned that one of its diocesan priests, Fr. John Emmett Walsh, has been appointed to the Order of Canada.
