In response to Pope Francis’ appeal to pray for peace in the Middle East, Archbishop Christian Lépine will celebrate a special Mass on the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Friday evening, August 15, 7:30 at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral.

(Vatican Radio) The Director of the Press Office of the Holy See, Fr. Federico Lombardi, SJ, has issued a statement communicating the Holy Father's prayerful concern over the violence raging in Iraq, and especially for the Christians affected by the violence.

(Vatican Radio) In an effort to promote peace, The Vatican Secretary of State issued a "nota verbale" to all the embassies accredited to the Holy See. This statement included the texts of Pope Francis' most recent addresses that called for peace, particularly in the Middle East.

In a text published in February 2014 in the daily Metropolitain newspapers, the Archbishop of Montreal, Most Reverend Christian Lépine, appeals to conscience as MP’s vote on Bill 52.
