New General Secretary for the Bishops of Quebec

The bishops of Quebec are pleased to announce the appointment of Msgr. Pierre Murray as General Secretary of the Assembly of Quebec Catholic Bishops, effective May 1, 2018.
The AQCB congratulates Msgr. Murray for his new engagement within the Church. They also wish him success in his new responsibilities, at the moment when all the bishops of Quebec are engaged together in the important pastoral project of the missionary shift of Christian communities, the purpose of which is to give a renewed momentum and a second wind to the transmission of the faith of the Gospel as the Good News of salvation.
Msgr. Murray is currently the CEO of Communications et Société and of its Mediafilm division, while assuming responsibility of the televised Mass on Radio-Canada. The wealth of his overall formation, the various pastoral experiences that have enriched his journey as a priest, his major involvement with the board of directors of various community organizations and his recognized ability to lead working teams and manage the budgets of various foundations are all assets that will enable him to take on this responsibility wisely and competently.
The new General Secretary will participate in the work of the Plenary Assembly of the AQCB from March 5 to 8, 2018. His official entry is planned for May 1, 2018.
Mr. Bertrand Ouellet will remain the General Secretary of the AQCB until April 30, 2018. The bishops of Quebec sincerely thank him for the magnificent work accomplished over more than a decade.
