2019 Corpus Christi
Montreal
All the faithful of the Archdiocese of Montreal are cordially invited to a special Mass celebrated by Archbishop Christian Lépine, followed by a procession through the streets of downtown Montreal on Thursday evening, June 20, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
This is a flagship event of our Liturgical Year!
The Feast of Corpus Christi, also know as Corpus Domini, is celebrated the Sunday following Trinity Sunday (i.e 60 days following Easter). We are celebrating the tradition and belief in the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ and his Real Presence in the Eucharist.
Eucharist Mass -at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral- will be followed by a procession of thousands of people who gather in peace, joy and prayer, witnessing our faith in the true presence of Christ in the midst of our world. The procession will lead us to the Benediction at Saint Patrick's Basilica.
Candles and holders will be available at the doors of the Cathedral for the modest sum of $3 for one or $5 for two. You may also bring your banners of saints, parishes, movements or groups!
