RCIA: Essential ministry continues amid changes
Montreal
As many are aware, the financial strain within the Archdiocese has prompted a reduction in staff across Diocesan Services, necessitating a reorganization of activities, particularly within the Evangelization and Christian Life Service. In light of these adjustments, significant changes are underway regarding the RCIA Service:
A) This year, as part of the temporary reorganization, the Cathedral's pastoral team will oversee the three celebrations associated with the RCIA.
DECISIVE CALL
Description: During this celebration, the catechumen is officially called by the bishop to receive the sacraments of Christian initiation during the Easter Vigil. This is a diocesan celebration. It brings together the catechumens, their companions and their godparents, who will give their testimony on behalf of their godchild, before an assembly of the faithful around the bishop and priests from various parishes in the diocese.
Celebrated by Mgr Lépine

CALL OF ADULT CONFIRMERS
Description: Celebration where the archbishop meets adult candidates preparing for Confirmation, as well as those asking for full communion and their companions.

Please also note that, from now on, all requests and communications concerning the RCIA should be directed to the following address: EVC@diocesemontreal.org
We understand that these changes can present challenges, and we are grateful for your flexibility and commitment to the spiritual well-being of our diocese.
Despite the many challenges that lie ahead, I want to emphasize that the RCIA program remains an important part of our diocesan life. While some temporary adjustments have been necessary due to layoffs, I want to assure you that we are actively working to reorganize all Catechumenate and RICA initiatives.
