The World Day of Consecrated Life, February 2nd, 2023, will be an opportunity for thousands of religious men & women to gather for the first time since the beginning of 2020 to celebrate their commitment. The CRC expresses its best wishes to all consecrated persons in Canada in a spirit of joy and thanksgiving.

From our virtual meetings over the past two years, we have recognized the “unexpected blessing” of the pandemic in encouraging us to energize the networks of consecrated life through the learning of digital platforms. As a result, we acknowledge with gratitude a greater solidarity among CRC members, a true sign of the times.

“My eyes have seen Your salvation” (Luke 2:30)

While recognizing the benefits of virtual gatherings, we delight in the joys of coming together. It is through the real presence of Jesus Christ and of our sisters and brothers that we can truly feel the call to be one body. United, we can say like Simeon: “My eyes have seen Your salvation“.

Consecrated life is evolving. Many Congregations recognize that they are entering a period of completion.  Far from feeling sorry, they are demonstrating their ability to live in the present and age with grace and gratitude. By planning their legacy, reflecting on their evolving mission, offering activities and supporting advocacy for social and environmental justice, they continue to serve the world according to God’s plan.

To all our Sisters and Brothers, from east to west in this vast country, we thank you for your vibrant testimony to living in harmony with the Spirit!
